My 2026 NFL Draft QB Rankings: Midseason Edition

Welcome back to The McShay Report! We’ve got a special newsletter today: It’s time to debut my first QB rankings of the season.

While this class as a whole hasn’t performed as well as I expected coming into the year, it’s still a very deep, versatile, and fascinating group that’s sure to divide scouts and analysts across the industry over the next six months.

A couple of quick notes before we get to the list:

  • A handful of quarterbacks in this group have extra years of NCAA eligibility, which means that they’re not guaranteed to be part of the 2026 class. In fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing most of those guys return to school for more seasoning, given how much college starting experience has correlated to early NFL success in recent years.

  • To reflect that trend and the continued evolution of my scouting process, I’ve included each player’s college starting experience as part of my evaluation in these rankings for the first time. I’ve also provided each player’s top traits, what I still want to see from them throughout the scouting process, and their respective draft stock statuses.

All right, let’s dive in!
