Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection is being hit with a lot of mixed reviews on Steam due to input delay, audio issues, missing features, and just generally being “undercooked”.
Mortal Kombat fans have been asking for a proper classic collection for so long that Legacy Kollection seemed like a guaranteed slam dunk when it was first revealed. Even when straight-up bad Mortal Kombat games like Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Special Forces were confirmed for the collection, nothing seemed like it could stop it from being exactly what fans have been asking for.
Well, that sadly hasn’t ended up being the case. As we reported earlier in the week, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection has been getting a lot of flak for its many missing features at launch, but it seems what’s actually in the collection isn’t much better, as it’s been hit with a lot of negative reviews on Steam over the past two days.
Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection Is Off To A Rough Start On Steam
“This Game Is A Disgrace”
As of the time of writing, Mortal Kombat Legacy Kollection sits with a “Mixed” review score on Steam after 408 reviews, with 48 percent of those being negative. Having nearly half of your reviews be negative at launch obviously isn’t great, and it sounds like there are a lot of reasons why the collection is underwhelming.
We’ve already talked about the missing features that are going to be added to the game at a later date, but one of the most common complaints mentioned in the negative reviews is a surprising one – input lag. Perhaps the worst thing a fighting game can have is apparently all over in Legacy Kollection, and instantly noticeable when you’re going for combos.
Another problem with the Legacy Kollection that’s highlighted in the reviews is audio issues across the board, with complaints that it’s bugged in several of the games. Some reviews also point out some minor but confusing issues with specific titles, like Sub-Zero’s ending in Mortal Kombat 2 weirdly being lower resolution than the rest.
All of these big and small problems are bad enough, but many of the reviews point out that it’s even worse considering Legacy Kollection costs $50. That price point has been a bugbear for a while, but it’s even worse now that we know what kind of state the game has been released in.
