Mel & Peg Reportedly Having Issues After ‘The Golden Bachelor’

The Golden Bachelor star Mel Owens’ engagement to his season’s winner is allegedly off to a rocky start.

As spoilers revealed ahead of the season finale, Mel chose Peg Munson in the two-hour finale on November 12. However, a production insider told The Sun that it’s far from a happily-ever-after for Mel and Peg so far.

“Mel and Peg are already having problems. She’s a social butterfly and loves to be extroverted and outgoing,” the source said. “He can hang, but he’s much more demure. She’s go, go, go, and he’s calm and slower paced. He prefers nights at home, and she prefers nights on the town.”

From what we saw during Mel’s season, the former NFL star seemed smitten with Peg so what changed? “They connect over foundational things like family and morals, but personality-wise, they clash, and there’s already been cracks in the relationship,” the source said.

The source adds that the couple were supposed to go on a private getaway to a “secluded space” back in October, but the trip, intended to let them spend time together without getting spotted before the finale airs, never went ahead.

That said, the pair is still together. “They don’t want the fans to get a whiff of any problems as that will just add to it,” the source said.

In an October 22 interview with Us Weekly, Mel praised Peg’s “high energy” but admitted that he found it challenging to “crack” the 62-year-old retired firefighter. “I had to figure out if she really liked me or not!” he said, adding that he wanted her to be more affectionate. “I [had] to bring it out.”
