The Switch 2 isn’t even two months old yet, and we may already have a winner for the most unique accessory it’s ever going to have. A piece of plastic that has been designed to look like a McDonald’s fries box that can store your fries, complete with magnetic connectors on each side so it can fit neatly between your Joy-Con.
The novel new Switch 2 creation is called GamiFries and comes from the mind of someone who goes by user7R135, who has uploaded the design to MakerWorld. Unfortunately, that means this accessory is one money can’t buy. On the bright side, its design is free, so if you have access to a 3D printer, you can go and make one of your own right now.
GamiFries’ creator notes that you shouldn’t resell your accessory “unless it’s for a whole lot of money”, so maybe you can buy one if you find someone with a 3D printer who’s willing to sell.

The accessory has been designed to hold a single box of medium McDonald’s fries, so bad news for those of us who always go large. Although it looks like the fries have been dumped straight in there, that’s not the case. If it were, your 3D-printed GamiFries would need to be removed and cleaned after every use. Although honestly, that’s probably not a bad idea.
The fries should stay in the box, and that’s how the GamiFries creator has gotten around their accessory showcasing the McDonald’s logo without needing to include it in the design and risk some fast-food-flavored legal proceedings. The big yellow M you can see on the GamiFries isn’t on the accessory at all. It’s on the fries box, and a hole in the accessory allows the logo to be displayed.
The GamiFries can be used in both controller and handheld mode. Its connectors are compatible with the Switch 2 Joy-Con magnets, meaning you can clip them on and have your fries sitting neatly in the middle. There are also adapters available so that your Switch 2 screen can be clipped to it, too, hence the handheld compatibility, but that’s when things start to look a little awkward.
As fun a creation as this is, I’m not entirely sold. While having access to McDonald’s fries at all times is something I’d use one of my three wishes on if I’m ever lucky enough to recruit a genie’s services, I’m not sure how much easier this accessory makes the fry-eating experience. You’re still going to end up with greasy fingers after each handful. It would be nice to have a Switch 2 fry holder to go with my 3D printed PS5 pizza warmer, though.
