Margot Robbie Makes First Red Carpet Appearance Since Giving Birth

Margot Robbie has officially returned to the red carpet just nine months after welcoming a baby boy with her husband Tom Ackerley. The Barbie actress stepped out for a photocall with Colin Farrell and Kogonada, the latter of whom is directing Robbie’s new picture A Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Farrell stars opposite the actress in the upcoming romantic fantasy film.

The Babylon actress wore a black fitted mini-dress for the occasion which featured boning and a slightly exaggerated skirt. She paired the dress with strappy black heels and styled her hair in a sleek middle part.

Robbie and Ackerley have yet to disclose the name of their new baby. Following his arrival, a source told People that the couple were “so happy.”

“They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby actually arrived,” the insider added. “They’ve both been settling into being parents.”

Robbie’s new film, meanwhile, is the first time she’s been in front of the camera since 2022, when she starred in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

“I think that’s the longest break I’ve ever had between jobs. I thought it would be more scary to be walking onto the Big Bold set on day one, but it wasn’t,” she told Vanity Fair. “Everything about this film was immediately comfortable.”

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey hits theaters on September 19. In the same interview, Robbie called making the film “truly one of the most magical experiences of my life.”
