A man accused of stalking and harassing Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark has been sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison, per TMZ.
Michael Lewis, a 55-year-old from Texas, reached a plea deal with Indiana prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to one felony count of stalking and one misdemeanor count of harassment.
Lewis has also been formally ordered to stay away from from Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Hinkle Fieldhouse, Fever Events and Indiana Pacers Organization Events, as well as to have no contact with Clark.
Lewis was arrested on Jan. 12 after authorities alleged he sent hundreds of “threats and sexually explicit messages” to Clark from December 12, 2024, to January 11, 2025.
Prosecutors said Clark gave her approval of the plea agreement given to Lewis, who reportedly “was admonished by the judge several times during the court proceedings.”
“This resolution ensures that the defendant is held accountable for his threatening actions, the fear he instilled, and the disruption he caused,” Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears said, per TMZ. “He will now spend the next two-and-a-half years in the Department of Corrections and the victim will be able to have peace of mind while focusing on what matters to her.”
Clark has been limited to 13 games this season while battling injuries and is currently sidelined with a right groin injury. She doesn’t have a timetable for her return.
