Apple’s new MacBook is on sale at its lowest price right now and it might very well be the best deal we have tracked all year on an Apple product. We have admittedly tracked some seriously fantastic Apple deals this year for sure, but the base model M4 MacBook Air might be the most universally-appealing, useful, and practical investment you can buy in the lineup right now while it’s down at $799 shipped – $200 off the list price.
MacBook deals aplenty
It’s officially MacBook season, and by that I mean MacBook deal season. The M4 MacBook Air lineup is now sitting down at the lowest prices we have tracked on Amazon outside of a couple colorways with the more pricey configurations that have dropped a few bucks less, and the M4 MacBook Pro is sitting at Amazon all-time low pricing with $300 in savings.
We have seen some wild deals on the more expensive MacBook Pro configs, much like I just detailed on the spec’d out M4 Air models, but when it comes to folks looking for a new and yet modest machine that doesn’t need to be able to handle heavy weight Final Cut edits or Logic Pro sessions with 80+ tracks and things of that nature – you know the MacBook most folks will ever need – the deals we are tracking right now are as good as it gets.
Yes, waiting until Apple’s MacBooks get deep into the lifecycle or even after the next-generation models surface can be a great way to save cash on machines that are, frankly, still more than powerful enough for most users. But if you’re looking for something to invest in that will still feel “new” for years to come while bringing home a current-generation machine right now, MacBook season is here.
The M4 MacBook lineup might not get updated until next year, but it might get a fall refresh. But the M4 MacBook Air lineup has been on a spring schedule as of late and almost certainly won’t see a refresh until early to mid 2026. That, in combination with the fact that the MacBook Pro is frankly overkill for your average user (as gorgeous as that display is), not to mention how much more expensive it is, makes the new MacBook Air with the M4 chip at $799 one of the best buys in Apple gear we have tracked all year, and quite the possibly the very best Apple deal we have seen yet.
But what about AirPods Pro 2? Just about everybody absolutely loves those things and they were just offered at Amazon for the best price ever. Okay fine, this is clearly and admittedly a contender for the best Apple deal of the year. But they are also the kind of thing millions of folks already have considering how long they have been on the market – the price drop we saw for Prime Day was impressive, but not nearly as much as the straight $200 dip on the latest and most universal MacBook out there that just released a little over 4 months ago.
Either way you want to look at it, scoring the most affordable MacBook in the current-generation lineup not even half way into its lifecycle at $200 off is a serious deal and one you do not want to miss if you’re looking to land a new machine this summer or to head back to school with.

How much longer these deals might last in anyone’s guess, but with the month flipping over the August tomorrow, we would venture a guess they won’t make through the weekend and into next week.
