Louis Vuitton wedding gowns, a custom cowboy hat and more from their big day

Chloë Grace Moretz is officially married! The 28-year-old actress said “I do” to model and photographer Kate Harrison in an intimate wedding ceremony over Labor Day weekend.

The Miseducation of Cameron Post star and Harrison, who’s previously starred in modeling campaigns for J. Crew, Top Shop and Inez, began dating in 2018 and have kept much of their relationship from the public eye. The pair confirmed their engagement on New Year’s Day 2025, when Moretz shared a photo of herself and her then-fiancée sporting diamond engagement rings in an Instagram post.

Getting the opportunity to design two engagement rings — one for herself and one for Harrison — was something Moretz had long been excited to do. The Suspiria actress collaborated with Elizabeth Potts, the founder of antique and vintage jewelry brand the Moonstoned, to bring the designs to life.

“Both of our diamonds are Victorian diamonds, and we wanted to reset them in a Victorian sense. I was excited to do something like that, that felt like it could become our future family heirloom,” Moretz told Vogue in a story published on Monday.

From their Nicolas Ghesquière-designed wedding dresses to the meaning behind the actress’s cowboy hat, here’s a closer look at Moretz and Harrison’s big day.

Heading to the Louis Vuitton atelier

Prior to their final fitting at the Louis Vuitton atelier, Moretz told Vogue that she and Harrison were feeling “overwhelmed in a good way.”

“This will be our third fitting. We did our first fitting, which was just the toile — which is just the outline and shape — and then we did our secondary fitting, and that was like 98%, and then today will be 100%. Completely finished, including veils,” she told the magazine.

For Moretz, asking Nicolas Ghesquière to design her wedding dress was a no-brainer. The French-Belgian fashion designer, who’s been the creative director of Louis Vuitton since 2013, also offered to design Harrison’s dress too.

“When we got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted to reach out to Nicolas [Ghesquière] and Louis Vuitton [to] see if he would be interested in making my wedding dress, and got a very overwhelmingly excited response from Nicolas that not only would he be willing to make my wedding dress but he also wanted to include Kate in that — and to make both of wedding dresses and our after-party looks,” Moretz told Vogue. “To include my fiancé and my partner in that, it just speaks very highly to Nicolas’s character, the community that he’s created at LV — it just feels really monumental in a way.”

The end result for Moretz was a floor-length, baby blue gown with a ruffled sweetheart neckline, delicate satin panels throughout and beading along the bodice. To complete the glamorous look, Moretz wore matching satin opera gloves and a long trailing veil.

Harrison, meanwhile, opted for a more traditional wedding gown. The model wore a white lace, floor-length gown with a sweetheart neckline and an accompanying veil that integrated both birdcage and trailing elements.

Moretz and Harrison’s reception looks

Moretz initially wanted her afterparty look, also designed by Ghesquière, to be blue as well, though she ultimately went for a monochromatic white ensemble.

“Originally, they talked about the afterparty look being blue as well, but then, since the wedding dress is blue, they decided to have a white moment with the afterparty look. I love it because you can see my tattoos peeking on the side,” Moretz told Vogue.

For the actress, Ghesquière designed a cream-white jacket featuring peek-a-boo cutouts and pleated trousers along with a wide-brimmed cowboy hat. Moretz’s glamorous getup was inspired by a 2019 Louis Vuitton runway look.

Added Moretz, “I remember seeing the runway version, and it had this cowboy hat, and to 1756857590 see it created to my proportions, it’s just so beautiful. And a little bit of ‘Yee-haw, baby!’”

Harrison went with a delicately embellished sweetheart bodice for her afterparty look. The beauty of the ensemble was in its details: On top of the bodice was a sheer overlay with thin metallic trim and spaghetti straps and buttons running down the center. The overlay opened in the middle, revealing a pair of trousers beneath.

“I’ve always loved sheer overlays,” Harrison told Vogue. “So when I mentioned that to Nicolas, he was immediately like I’ll do it for your after look, I think it’s stunning. And he blew it away!”

Sharing what they love, with who they love

There’s also context behind Moretz’s cowboy hat.

“A big part of the wedding [is about] sharing things that Kate and I love with everyone that’s going to be there,” she told Vogue. “So there’s fishing, horseback riding, and poker. Kate made a custom poker mat herself, so we’re going to kind of be leaning into it. Our second day is going to be line dancing and everything.”
