Just days after collapsing onstage in New York, British singer-songwriter Lola Young has canceled all upcoming appearances, saying she needs “some time to work on myself.”

“I’m going away for a while,” Young wrote on Instagram. “It pains me to say I have to cancel everything for the foreseeable future. Thank you for all the love and support. I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know.”

After thanking fans for their love and support, Young continued, “I’m so sorry to let anyone down who has bought a ticket to see me, it hurts me more than you know. Obviously you will be entitled to a full refund. I really hope you’ll give me a second chance once I’ve had some time to work on myself and come back stronger.”

Two days ago, Young confirmed that she had canceled a “Messy” tour date in Washington, D.C. The now-cancelled 17-date North American was to include stops in Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Hollywood, among others.

Last Saturday, Young collapsed onstage during her performance at All Things Go Festival at New York City’s Forest Hills Stadium.

“Hi, For anyone who saw my set at all things go today, i am doing okay now,” the chart-topping English pop artist wrote on her Instagram Story in the aftermath. “Thank you for all of your support Lola xxx.”

According to Billboard, the 24-year-old Young collapsed while singing the song “Conceited” off her second album This Wasn’t Meant for You Anyway. At the time, the artist paused the song mid-lyrics to talk to her keyboardist, but collapsed shortly thereafter. Her band, team and security rushed the stage to carry her off. The outlet and those in attendance noted online that the “Blind Love” singer-songwriter looked flushed prior to her falling backward.

After the incident, her manager, Nick Shymansky, wrote on social media of the canceled performance, “Lola is very open about her mental health and there are very occasionally days where myself and my team have to take protective measures to keep her safe. She is an incredible person and always takes her fans, career and performances seriously. I can only send huge apologies for the inconvenience caused.”

Young has seen her star rise throughout the past year, thanks in large part to the viral TikTok traction of her of the song “Messy.” gained on TikTok.
