Lisa Yamada Confirms Her Exit as Bold & Beautiful’s Luna Nozawa

After an eventful two-year run, Bold & Beautiful Emmy winner Lisa Yamada has wrapped her stint as Luna Nozawa. “So many tears shed, blood spilled, friendships formed and memories made on [the show],” she Instagramed on November 21. “What a ride it’s been! Hope you enjoyed the adventures.”

What Happened to Luna?

In the November 20 episode of the CBS soap, the double murderess and rapist was on the run from the LAPD as well as half the show’s cast of characters. Her victim Will Spencer finally seemed to have gotten it through her head that he didn’t love her and never would. So, hoping to keep Deputy Chief Baker from hauling her back to prison, the fugitive fled into the foggy night, ultimately running into oncoming traffic and being struck by a car.

The November 21 episode then began with the cop announcing that Luna had died — oh, and she hadn’t been lying about losing the baby, either. It all seemed rather sudden, though, didn’t it? But the rest of the half-hour was dedicated to various characters’ reactions to the news. So at least for the time being, the she-devil is done stalking the City of Angels. (We’re still betting she’ll be back to play out this storyline, even though fans seem to hate the very idea!)

What’s Yamada Doing Now?

Even before she was cast by Bold & Beautiful, Yamada was making waves in Hollywood. She’d guest-starred on everything from Party of Five to All American and had been a series regular on Cruel Summer. In May, the news broke that the actress had landed a recurring role on Elle, the Legally Blonde prequel series.

What Are Yamada’s Thoughts on Luna?

In early November, Yamada revealed during an episode of Soapy that her Bold & Beautiful had only taken a turn for the crazy because she’d asked headwriter Bradley Bell to “be bad. I meant like a badass, but he totally took it and ran with it.”

The daytime newcomer had no complaints about Luna’s descent into madness, either. “I get to do a lot,” she said. And as she did, she created one of the most polarizing characters ever on soaps. Read her colleagues’ goodbye messages.
