Lions vs. Dolphins joint practice live updates: Day 1

The long-awaited joint practices between the Detroit Lions and Miami Dolphins are finally here. Starting on Wednesday, around 10:30 a.m. ET, the two teams will battle it out at the Lions’ Allen Park facility for a set of back-to-back practices.

Not only is this a unique opportunity for the Lions to get their starters a bunch of game-like reps to prepare them for the regular season, but it’s also a chance to mix up training camp and go against different players and different types of players. It’s also a good chance to just see where the Lions compare to other teams, although we have to be careful not to jump to conclusions based on a couple of practices.

Another benefit of joint practices is that there are two sets of beat writers at practice analyzing the action. It’s one thing to have the Lions beat—including us—on hand for training camp. It’ll be nice to have a fresh perspective from a different, external set of reporters.

So to help you track it all, in this post, we have linked to a pair of Twitter lists. One full of Lions beat writers, one full of Dolphins reporters. They should be providing updates from practice all morning long. Twitter no longer allows lists to be embedded on our website. However, you can access our list and follow along with live updates. Additionally, if there’s an update that you find particularly interesting, you can always embed the tweet in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Just make sure you are continuing to follow our community guidelines in the chat.
