In a little over one month, Apple will unveil its ultra-thin new iPhone 17 Air model. And today, leaker Majin Bu shared a look at what’s said to be the battery component of the new device.
First look at alleged iPhone 17 Air battery
Today on his website, leaker Majin Bu shared several photos of what’s allegedly the actual battery of the iPhone 17 Air.
The battery is housed in a steel enclosure, similar to the design used in last year’s iPhone 16 Pro.
Bu says the battery capacity is approximately 2900mAh, which is in line with what other leakers have said.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to include a 6.6-inch display, a brand new size for Apple’s lineup.
Its main draw will undoubtedly be the radically thin new design.
Prior reports have said the device will be around 5.55mm thin. That will easily make it the thinnest iPhone ever.
iOS 26 includes new features designed to assist with battery, such as an Adaptive Power mode.
Even with software enhancements though, it seems certain that iPhone 17 Air will have the worst battery life of any iPhone 17 models. But depending on your needs, it will hopefully still be good enough for the average day of use.
