It’s been four years since Trainers have landed on Aeos Island, and that means it’s time to celebrate four years of fierce battles in Pokémon UNITE! The excitement begins Friday, July 18, 2025, and continues the following days with new Unite licenses, a delicious Anniversary Cake Challenge, and so much more. Read on for a preview of what’s to come!
From Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. PDT to Thursday, August 28, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, Trainers can participate in the Anniversary Cake Challenge. By clearing anniversary event missions, you can stack cake layers, earning you frosting to exchange for special rewards. Do your best to collect rewards, such as a sticker, frame, energy boost tank, and more!
Every day from Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. PDT to Thursday, August 28, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, you can select an anniversary present gift box and get even more frosting! If you’re lucky, you might even be able to open a second box after your first.
Plus, you’ll see four new missions to complete each day, earning you more frosting to continue adding layers to your cake in the Anniversary Cake Challenge!
Ignite your compassionate spirit and add the Unite license for the Legendary Pokémon Latios to your collection! Latios arrives on Aeos Island as a Ranged Attacker whose Levitate Ability boosts its movement speed for a short time after it uses a move.

When Latios uses a move, its movement speed increases for a short time. Similarly, when Latias is nearby, Latios’s movement speed increases. When Latias is on the same team as Latios, Latios can fly to Latias.
Levitate can only be used when Latios is not in combat and goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.
Latios’s basic attack deals damage to opposing Pokémon.
Latios releases a weak telekinetic force in the designated direction, dealing damage and applying a slowing effect to the opposing Pokémon it hits.
Latios shoots star-shaped rays across a large area in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits.
After Latios learns Dragon Pulse, it gains Eon power whenever it defeats wild Pokémon. Latios dashes in the designated direction, and its next basic attack becomes a boosted attack. If Latios hits a Pokémon from the opposing team with a boosted basic attack, Latios gains Eon power. This boosted attack also releases telekinetic projectiles, which deal damage. The more Eon power Latios has accumulated, the more projectiles are released and the more damage they deal.
If Dragon Pulse is upgraded, the telekinetic projectiles deal additional damage to opposing Pokémon equal to a set percentage of their max HP.
After Latios learns Draco Meteor, it gains Eon power whenever it defeats wild Pokémon. Latios summons down comets onto the designated area, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon they hit. If Draco Meteor hits Pokémon on the opposing team, Latios gains Eon power. The more Eon power Latios has accumulated, the more comets are summoned and the more damage they deal.
If Draco Meteor is upgraded, additional damage is dealt based on the percentage of HP the opposing Pokémon has lost.
Latios lets loose a ball of light. After a set amount of time passes, or if Luster Purge is used again, the ball’s light releases all at once, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and marking them. Latios and any Latias on the user’s team deal increased damage to marked opposing Pokémon.
If Luster Purge is upgraded, the duration that opposing Pokémon remain marked increases.
Latios unleashes psychic power in the designated direction, dealing damage and applying a slowing effect to opposing Pokémon it hits. If Latios hits an opposing Pokémon with Telekinesis, Telekinesis can be used again to unleash psychic power at a designated opposing Pokémon.
If the second Pokémon hit by Telekinesis is different from the first, the two Pokémon are pulled toward each other and are left unable to act if they collide. If the second Pokémon hit by Telekinesis is the same as the first, it is left unable to act.
If Telekinesis is upgraded, the slowing effect applied by this move is strengthened.
Latios’s Unite Move, Eon Blast
Latios aims at the designated Pokémon from the opposing team and charges power before releasing a pulse, dealing damage. Latios’s move cooldowns immediately reset and are reduced for a short time. If Latias is also aiming its Unite Move at the designated Pokémon from the opposing team, the pulses stack and explode, dealing damage around the target as well.
Trainers can add Latios’s Unite license to their collection from Friday, July 18, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. PDT to Thursday, August 7, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. During this time, you’ll obtain one free die each day that you can roll to advance a number of squares along a map. Complete a tile mission for the square you land on, and you’ll be able to roll another die. Collect plenty of coins to exchange for Latios’s Unite license!
