Labor Day is a great time to buy a new laptop and I’ve picked the best deals right now

I don’t need a new laptop, but if I were to buy one — now would be it. This time of the year is when back to school sales wind down and Labor Day laptop sales pick up. In other words, it’s an excellent time to score a deal on some of the best laptops we’ve tested here at Tom’s Guide.

As a MacBook Air user, I’m always looking for Apple deals and right now Amazon has MacBooks on sale from $799. This includes the excellent 13-inch MacBook Air (M4) for $799 and the 15-inch MacBook Air (M4) for $999. Those are the best MacBook prices I’ve seen all year.

If you’re a Windows user, it’s hard to beat Best Buy. Right now Best Buy has Windows laptops on sale from $219. I’m a fan of the Samsung Galaxy Book 4 Pro 360 for $899. You get a beefy machine with a 16-inch AMOLED display, Core Ultra 7 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

In my opinion, Dell also deserves a shoutout. The Alienware 16 Aurora with RTX 5050 is on sale for just $899. I’ve seen plenty of Dell deals and this is hands-down the cheapest Alienware rig I’ve seen possibly in the past two years.
