Kim Kardashian reveals brain aneurysm on premiere of ‘The Kardashians’

Kim Kardashian revealed a serious health condition in the latest premiere of Hulu’s The Kardashians.

Thursday’s season 7 debut included a teaser looking ahead toward future episodes, with a portion near the end including a shot of the 45-year-old All’s Fair star getting an MRI before discussing an update on her health.

“There was like, a little aneurysm,” Kardashian says in the clip, which also includes imagery of the personality’s brain scans from the test.

She eventually says that doctors told her it was caused by “stress,” with additional commentary featuring Kardashian lamenting that, “people think I have the luxury of walking away.”

Later, a shot shows Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, in a car, listening to her daughter speak about her troubles on the phone.

“This week has been the hardest week of my life,” Kardashian says on the other line, much to Jenner’s dismay.

Another portion of the season 7 teaser revolves around Kardashian’s current relationship with her ex-husband Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, whom she has recently spoken about at length in the media.

“My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together,” Kardashian continues, referencing her family with Ye, including children North, 11, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.

Though the first season 7 episode didn’t include further elaboration on Kardashian’s health condition, the Mayo Clinic describes a brain aneurysm as a “bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain.”

The organization says that “if the brain aneurysm leaks or ruptures, it causes bleeding in the brain, known as a hemorrhagic stroke,” and that “if an aneurysm ruptures it can quickly become life-threatening and requires emergency treatment.”

Kardashian recently opened up about her personal life with her ex-husband, telling the Call Her Daddy podcast that it’s difficult raising a family with the rapper, whom she divorced in 2021.

“What do you think co-parenting with Kanye West is like?” Kardashian replied after host Alex Cooper asked about their dynamic.

“It’s not easy. But, I mean, I raise the kids, you know, full-time. They live with me. I welcome a great, healthy relationship with my kids and their dad, and I think he knows that,” she continued. “I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when, you know, it’s time for that. And it goes in waves and phases and it’s a lot of work.”
