Kim Kardashian Brings Back Blonde Hair With a Y2K Twist

Kim Kardashian has a new look. Or rather, she’s bringing back an old one. On August 15, Kardashian took to Instagram to share a selfie showing off a dramatic hair transformation. After rocking a dark brunette lob for the past few months, before going for a longer style, Kardashian has returned to her iconic bleached blonde look.

In the photo, Kardashian posed with a piece of her blonde hair clipped in front of her face. On the right side of her face, her icy blonde hair was braided in a few Y2K-coded teeny tiny braids. “👩🏼 about that time,” she captioned the photo.

This is far from the first time that Kardashian has gone blonde. Earlier this summer, she had a blonde curly bob moment for a mob wife aesthetic-inspired Skims x Roberto Cavalli campaign. In December, she posed in a Pamela Anderson-coded blonde bob with bangs. Then, last spring, she had another blonde moment and even brought her bleached hair to the Met Gala.

In fact, Kardashian has been experimenting with blonde for years. During a 2022 interview with Interview Magazine, she said that she was in the process of going blonde. “I am keeping it for a little bit,” she said. “I feel like in the fall I’ll go dark, just because I don’t want to damage my hair. But, I do think blondes have more fun. I just feel different.”

More recently, however, Kardashian has been wearing her hair in a more natural dark brunette shade. Her hair was dark and long for her recent trip to Venice, for instance, where she was a guest at the Lauren Sánchez-Jeff Bezos wedding.
