Ireland Baldwin, daughter of Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin, recently opened up about her childhood and slammed unnamed members of her family.
The former model, 29, said that she “grew up without two parents in my home and no siblings to turn to” in a post on her Substack “30, Flirty and Thriving,” but added that she’s no longer affected by “narcissistic, unreliable, addict family members.”
Ireland said that she used to try to “to win over certain people” in her family.
“Their validation and praise was meaningful to me,” she continued. “Nothing was more freeing than finally realizing how poisonous these people are.”
Ireland never specified who she was referring to and said that as mom to 2-year-old daughter Holland she wanted to “show [her] how a real family treats one another.”
She also added a bulleted list of tips for readers as she gets ready to turn 30 on October 23, including a sweet nod to her mom, 71.

“Tell your mom you love her every single day,” Ireland wrote. “Text her when you get to where you’re going. You will soon understand her in ways you never had.”
Basinger and Alec, 67, were married from 1993 to 2002, and in 2007, the former 30 Rock star made headlines for a particularly heated voicemail he left for Ireland calling her a “rude and thoughtless pig.” However, since then, the two have made amends.
“It took a lot of time and a lot of therapy. We were both in really dark places in our lives,” Ireland told Entertainment Tonight in 2020, per E! News. “But I love him, I respect him more than anyone.”
