NFL roster cuts are slowly trickling in ahead of the Tuesday’s 4:00 PM deadline.
At the time of the deal, there was thought that Green could compete with Tyler Steen to start at right guard. That never even came close to happening, however.
Green only ever repped at left guard … and only with the second-team or third-team units. Not only did Green not perform well; he also missed two different stints due to injury dating back to when training camp began.
Green missed a good chunk of training camp and didn’t play particularly well but I don’t think the Eagles are ready to give up on his potential.
As it turns out, the Eagles were ready to give up on the 24-year-old’s potential. At least when it comes to using a roster spot on Green. It’s possible they could bring him back on the practice squad, assuming he clears waivers.
The Eagles did not come out totally empty-handed from the CJGJ trade. They did acquire a Day 3 draft pick swap that they recently sent back to the Houston Texans (packaged along with tight end Harrison Bryant) to trade for John Metchie III.
