Ever since Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau started romance rumors, everyone wanted to know a few things, like how they met, what they even talk about, and what their exes think of the whole situation. While many allege that Perry’s ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, isn’t the biggest fan of them (and even questioned the dating timeline), Trudeau’s ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the former First Lady of Canada, has stayed quiet about the subject until now.
In case you missed it, photos published by The Mail on Sunday showed Justin and Perry in the midst of a steamy make-out session while aboard Perry’s yacht, the Caravelle. This all took place on Oct 11, and then, on Oct 12, Sophie made a post that has fans convinced it’s a subtle response to her ex’s new romance.

Sophie shared a video on her Instagram with the caption reading, “Nothing we love is meant to be kept forever. People, places, moments — they’re all meant to be lived, not possessed.”
She added, “The beauty is in the being there: in the shared laugh, the quiet glance, the heartbeat of a place before it changes. Connection isn’t something we hold —it’s something we feel while it’s here. That’s the real magic: presence. ✨ Let yourself love what’s here, without trying to make it stay.”

For those who don’t know, earlier this year, Perry and Bloom called their engagement off after nearly a decade together.
As for Trudeau, he split up with his wife of nearly 20 years, Sophie Grégoire, back in Aug 2023; and has kept very private with his dating life since. (Sophie and Justin knew each other as children, but later reconnected as adults in June 2003. They married in 2005 and welcomed three kids.)
Then, Perry and Trudeau started reportedly dating after a July 28 date night in Montreal, and Trudeau attended Perry’s Lifetimes Tour in Montreal on July 29. (However, per The US Sun, they first met at an unnamed event a few weeks before their first date.)
And, as we just said, they’ve been dating ever since!
