Justin Baldoni Responds to Isabela Ferrer Claiming He’s ‘Harassing’ Her with Subpoena Request in Blake Lively Case

Justin Baldoni‘s lawyers are responding after It Ends With Us actress Isabela Ferrer said he is “harassing” her with attempts to subpoena her in the ongoing Blake Lively legal battle.

On Monday, Aug. 18, attorneys for Baldoni, 41, claimed in a new court filing that Ferrer’s “opposition is primarily an inappropriate attack upon Mr. Baldoni and his counsel relating to matters not before the Court and irrelevant” to whether Ferrer, 24, should be served a subpoena.

After Baldoni issued a subpoena to Ferrer in July, his attorneys filed a motion on Aug. 12 claiming that the actress has been unreachable and unresponsive.

In Ferrer’s response, her lawyers claimed that Baldoni has “engaged in bad faith tactics” and filed his motion “for improper purposes and with the aim of harassing” Ferrer. The actress, who portrayed a young version of Lively’s character in 2024’s It Ends With Us, asked the court to deny Baldoni’s motion and impose sanctions on him.

ln Baldoni’s latest court filing, his legal team claimed that it subpoenaed Ferrer “for documents that she either neglected to produce or were not requested by” a subpoena Lively, 37, served Ferrer in February.

Lively has alleged sexual harassment and retaliation in her lawsuit against Baldoni and his production company Wayfarer Studios, allegations that Baldoni and his collaborators have denied.

Baldoni also objected to Ferrer’s lawyers’ notion that serving Ferrer with a subpoena constitutes Baldoni “harassing” the actress. PEOPLE has reached out to Ferrer’s lawyers for comment.

His lawyers wrote that Lively “should not be permitted to obtain discovery from” Ferrer while Ferrer and her counsel “frustrate all effort by the Wayfarer Parties to obtain the discovery critical to the preparation of their defense.”

Baldoni’s legal team asked the court to consider ordering both parties to avoid using “any communication to, from or concerning Ms. Ferrer, or any testimony from her, in any manner in this action” to “satisfy Ms. Ferrer’s apparent desire to avoid involvement in the litigation and trial.”

Baldoni’s lawyers noted in its filing that Ferrer “expressed her gratitude to Mr. Baldoni, stating that she had ‘an incredible experience’ and praised him for creating ‘a comfortable, safe space’ for her” in her messages with the director after she finished filming the movie.

Ferrer’s lawyers argued in its Aug. 17 motion that “some of the text messages Ms. Ferrer sent Baldoni were very positive and included the types of comments one would expect from a young actress to make to the director and producer of her first feature film.”

Lively’s attorneys previously claimed in court filings in February that two of Lively’s female costars in It Ends With Us had agreed to testify about their own experiences with Baldoni’s alleged behavior on the movie’s set, though her legal team did not name those witnesses at that time.

The trial is scheduled for March 2026.
