Junior Colson Placed on Season-Ending IR; Harris & Leonard Listed as Designated to Return from IR

The Chargers on Tuesday placed Junior Colson on Injured Reserve, meaning the linebacker will miss the entire 2025 season.

The Bolts also placed long snapper Josh Harris and cornerback Deane Leonard on Injured Reserve (Designated to Return), which means each of those two players must miss a minimum of four games.

Colson, a 2024 third-round pick by the Bolts, will now miss his second season in the NFL. The linebacker played in 11 games his rookie season (one start) and notched 29 tackles, a quarterback hit and a pass defensed.

Harris, a veteran long snapper, will miss at least the first four games of the 2025 season after suffering an injury in the final preseason game this past Saturday against the 49ers.

The Chargers will now need a new long snapper to pair with kicker Cameron Dicker and punter JK Scott, as Harris has played every game at that position since the 2022 season. Tight end Tucker Fisk served as the emergency long snapper in the preseason finale.

Leonard also must sit out for at least the first four games of the year. The fourth-year player played in 10 games last season and has been a key special teams contributor for the Bolts since entering the league in 2022.
