Josh Hartnett hospitalized after car accident with Canadian police

Actor Josh Hartnett was hospitalized after a collision between an SUV he was riding in and a Canadian police vehicle.

A representative for Hartnett told PEOPLE the actor was evaluated at a hospital before being released.

CBC News reports Hartnett, 47, was riding in the SUV when it was reportedly struck by a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) patrol vehicle in St. John’s, the capital of the province of Newfoundland, Canada, on Sept. 25.

A 59-year-old man was driving the SUV at the time of the collision, RNC said in a statement.

Hartnett, who recently starred as Frank, the fiancé of Richie’s ex-wife Tiffany, in “The Bear,” is in Canada filming an untitled Netflix series.

According to Netflix, the show is about “a hard-bitten fisherman (who) discovers his hometown is being terrorized by a mysterious creature.”

The actor is known for his in “Pearl Harbor,” “Black Hawk Down,” “Lucky Number Slevin,” “Oppenheimer” and more.
