Josh Allen Shares Honest Take On Bills’ Loss To Patriots In Week 5

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen believes they beat themselves against the New England Patriots on Sunday in Week 5.

The Bills entered the game with a perfect 4-0 record, but Buffalo’s offense struggled. Buffalo had just three points in the first half and the offense had three turnovers, which Allen wasn’t happy about.

“We just played sloppy,” Allen said postgame. “Not gonna win a football game, turning the ball over three times, in our red zone. Gave them one in their red zone… We shouldn’t have even been in it with three turnovers. So, again, that’s just piss poor offense.”

Allen believes the offense got too cute, which cost them against the Patriots.

“There were some other moments where I just feel like maybe we were too cute at times,” Allen added. “And just overall, we’ve got to look at some things and just be honest with ourselves and learn from it holistically.”

Following the loss, Bills coach Sean McDermott was also disappointed with the team’s effort and believes they beat themselves.

“Thought we beat ourselves,” McDermott said. “This is one we need to learn from. Schematically, and then just fundamentally, you start with the fundamentals, right, of winning football. Usually it’s us taking the ball away three times to none, and, in this case it was the other way.”

The Bills fell to 4-1, while New England is now 3-2 and a game back of Buffalo for the first spot in the AFC East.

Buffalo will play the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 6, while the Patriots will go on the road to play the New Orleans Saints.
