Jets icon Nick Mangold ‘disgusted’ after his N.J. town Madison doesn’t lower flag for Charlie Kirk

Former Jets center Nick Mangold blasted Madison officials on social media Saturday night after the borough kept its American flag at full staff despite President Donald Trump’s order to lower flags to half-staff for slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

In a post on X, Mangold, who lives in Madison, posted a picture of a flagpole in Madison and linked Gov. Phil Murphy and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill.

“I’m disgusted and saddened by my town @MadisonNJ_gov and my state @NJGov,” Mangold said. “This is wrong on so many levels @GovMurphy @RepSherrill as an American husband and father was assassinated for expressing his right to free speech.”

Kirk, an ally of President Donald Trump and co-founder of the political action group Turning Point USA, was speaking to a crowd at Utah Valley University last Wednesday when he was shot. He died shortly after at a nearby hospital. After Kirk’s death, Trump ordered American flags around the country to be lowered to half-staff to honor Kirk.
