Jessica Simpson is baring it all as she steps out for the premiere of All’s Fair.

On Thursday, Oct. 16, the musician and fashion designer, 45, hit the red carpet in Los Angeles for the release of Ryan Murphy‘s sexy legal drama All’s Fair, in which she makes a cameo appearance.

Simpson rocked a daring, skintight latex black dress from Vex — a latex designer that blends “fetish, everyday wear, and high fashion,” per the brand. The floor-length gown featured a plunging v-neck that didn’t leave much to the imagination, as well as a thigh-high slit that gave the musician the chance to show off her legs — and her strappy black Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Tying the look together was a large diamond choker necklace, plus a silver chain with what looked to be a faux animal tooth and plenty of glittering silver rings. Styled by Natalie Saidi, Simpson wore her classic blonde hair down in loose waves and opted for a glamorous makeup look, complete with a dark eye look and glossy pink lips.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere of the Hulu series — which stars Kim KardashianTeyana TaylorNiecy Nash-Betts, Glenn CloseSarah Paulson and Naomi Watts — Simpson joked that she wasn’t sure how she ended up with a role in the show.

“I honestly have no idea,” she admitted to PEOPLE on Oct. 16. “It has nothing to do with anything I’ve ever done before. So I jumped into it with all my guts. I had so much fun.”

Simpson’s experience on set taught her about some hidden skills she wasn’t aware of. “I discovered a lot about myself and what I was capable of,” she said.

The singer revealed, “I didn’t know I could cry on cue at all. I had no idea. It’s hard for me to cry in real life. I’m very strong. I’ll cry if I’m proud of something, but not feeling sorry for myself or feeling defeated.”

Simpson, who announced her split from ex Eric Johnson in January after 10 years of marriage, explained that during difficult times she tends to switch into more of a survival mode.

“I get more like, ‘How can I survive this?’” she said. “There’s a weird confidence that comes through with me because I have to keep going. I have to persevere.”

Created by Murphy, All’s Fair follows Watts, Close and Nash-Betts as divorce attorneys who work at a women-led law firm owned and run by Kardashian.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in May, Simpson described filming the legal drama as “incredible.”

“I had a blast,” she said. “I did eight hours of prosthetics, so it was very intense. but props to the prosthetics team. I love you guys so much. They said I had the most patience of anyone they’ve ever worked with, so, I mean, that’s a good compliment. I really embody someone that I am not, so I was definitely acting.”

All’s Fair premieres Nov. 4 on Hulu.
