Jerry Jones made quite the announcement following the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday evening.
The Cowboys fell to the Bears, 31-14, at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday afternoon. The Bears scored 17 unanswered points to record their first win of the season – and the Ben Johnson era. Dallas, meanwhile, dropped to 1-2 on the year. FOX announcer Tom Brady said that the Cowboys are a “64-yard field goal made by Brandon Aubrey” away from being 0-3. And he’s not wrong.

Dallas, which barely squeaked past the New York Giants in Week 2, is looking like one of the worst teams in the entire National Football League.

But despite the Cowboys losing to the Bears in Week 3, Jerry Jones remains confident – and perhaps delusional – about the state of his team.
Jones spoke with reporters immediately after his team’s loss at Soldier Field in Chicago on Sunday afternoon.
The Dallas Cowboys owner is still confident
Jerry Jones remains confident in this team, announcing postgame that he still believes the Dallas Cowboys are a playoff squad.

“Jerry Jones said he still fully believes the Cowboys are a playoff team,” he announced postgame, per Jon Machota.
The Cowboys did get some good news postgame, as it sounds like wide receiver CeeDee Lamb’s injury is not nearly as bad as it could have been.
“Let’s just keep our fingers crossed,” Jones told reporters.
Brady, meanwhile, who was on the call of the Cowboys at Bears game, summed up the biggest problem with Dallas right now – and it’s on defense.

“There’s not enough guys in the rush, and certainly no coverage. Another wide open receiver. Matt Eberflus is just looking for answers over there. Not rushing well, not covering well, not knowing their way on defense,” Brady said live on the FOX broadcast.
Things don’t get any easier for the Cowboys moving forward, either, as they will be taking on the Green Bay Packers – and Micah Parsons – in Week 4.
