Jerry Jones’ latest comments on Micah Parsons could lead to Eagles Week 1 win

The gift that keeps on giving: the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones is back at it, speaking to the media about the current Micah Parsons contract situation. Last week, Parsons requested a trade after the team had not reached out to his agent about a new contract.

Jones bluntly responded to a question regarding whether Parsons would be available for the Week 1 matchup against the Eagles.

“No, absolutely not,” Jones said via ESPN’s Todd Archer. “A big part of that is his decision. How would I know that?”

Dallas’ disaster just keeps getting better and better for the Eagles

It’s times like these that Eagles fans can be grateful to have a general manager in Howie Roseman who would never let this happen. Roseman is best at knowing when to release a player as soon as possible and when to get a deal done before the market price gets too high for the team.

A concept that is foreign to Jones, who has messed up pretty much every contract deal he has had to deal with, from CeeDee Lamb’s to Dak Prescott’s. The ancient ways of negotiating players’ deals won’t go away from Jones and that’s okay to Eagles fans.

Last year, Dallas mightily struggled against the Eagles in their two matchups. The Eagles outscored the Cowboys 75-13 in their two matchups, with Dallas never hitting double-digit points on offense in either matchup.

The Cowboys really didn’t do much to help their roster in the offseason as they had a relatively quiet time. One exception was the move to get wide receiver George Pickens, but even that is not enough to scare the Eagles.

Philadelphia remains the class of the NFC East, from its roster to its organizational structure. The Cowboys will never learn from the Eagles, which will only make their downfall that much funnier.
