Her Closest Celebrity Friends
The magazine profile kicked off by sharing some anecdotes and memories shared by some of her closest celebrity friends.
First: Sandra Bullock. They met at a wedding 15 years ago. Sandra said they eventually started “trading shots and notes.”
“We were just like, ‘Oh my God, we need to meet and cut loose.’ And we did,” Sandra said, while Jennifer added, “I don’t know what I was sending her, but it was definitely stronger than what she was sending me.”
Sandra added, “We were from that time in the business where no one wanted the ladies to be friends—it was about pitting everyone against each other. We were told we weren’t supposed to do that—meaning like and respect and honor each other.”
Another celeb friend? Gwyneth Paltrow. And yes, they have talked about Brad Pitt.
“Ironically, I went to her and Brad’s engagement party,” Jennifer said, referring to Brad Pitt. Jennifer added that they’ve “of course” discussed Brad: “How can we not? We’re girls.”
Jennifer added, “We’re always swapping advice—‘What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?’ ”
Another close friend is Jason Bateman.
Jennifer said, “Sometimes you look back at the person you were in your 20s, and you don’t recognize that person or those people around you…. But we’ve grown up together.”
They have Sunday dinner with his wife Amanda and his kids, often along with Jimmy Kimmel and his wife.
Another? Adam Sandler.
“Anything that happens in my life that he hears about, he’s one of the first people that I hear from. He would lay down on the tracks for me,” Jennifer said about him.
