Wednesday season 2 is just around the corner (snap, snap), and we all know what that means–Jenna Ortega is about to go full goth girl on the red carpets. The press tour kicked off with the London premiere earlier this week where Ortega debuted a daring set of bleached brows paired with XXL dark hair. The team then hit the road and made their way to Paris where Ortega upped the ante with a look that could only be described as gothic chic.

At the opening of Le Beach Club de Mercredi (Wednesday’s Beach Club) in the French capital on July 31, Ortega made her bold, moody jewelry the centerpiece of her look. She wore a striking large pavé cut-out cross pendant necklace in jet-black rhodium 14k white gold, which hung on a pavé black rhodium and diamond chain. The darkly sparking piece was paired with a deeply plunging ruffled corset dress in a deep faded maroon shade. She also accessorized with a pavé black diamond 18k white gold cross signet ring and a triple pavé band jet-black rhodium and diamond 14k white gold ring. All of her pieces, by Loree Rodkin and placed by D’Orazio & Associates, came to a total of around 20 carats. With her newly bleached brows, the look gave a real corpse bride effect.

Ortega and her team are approaching this Wednesday press tour as an opportunity to play with the concept of what her hair stylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez described as “dark beauty.” “It’s a bit alien, a bit goth, but still beauty,” he said to Vogue.

Her makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis added that her bleached brows were for another project but she “decided to keep them.” She added, “We wanted to create the right balance between an editorial look and a red carpet moment.”
