Jelly Roll admits to having cheated on wife Bunnie Xo

Jelly Roll is opening up about his past infidelity.

During an Oct. 21 appearance on the “Human School Podcast,” the singer—whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord—revealed that he previously cheated on his wife, Bunnie Xo, which led to a temporary separation in 2018.

“I don’t talk about this publicly at all, but one of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” the “Save Me” singer said.

He explained that his social circle at the time was not a good influence on him. “I was hanging around a bunch of people that were cheating on their wives,” he said. “When I was doing cocaine, I was hanging around a bunch of people that were doing cocaine. When I was drinking a lot, I was hanging around a lot of people that were drinking a lot,” he continued.

The Grammy-nominated performer further explained how he has since cut people out of his life, revealing he used to take pride in the length of his friendships, even if they were what he referred to as “horrible humans.” Jelly Roll has since gotten sober and moved on from that friend group.

He and Bunnie Xo met in 2015 and kept in touch until they started dating the following year. They married impulsively in Las Vegas in 2016 on the night that he proposed. After separating in 2018, they reconciled later that year, and it appeared that their split made the couple even stronger.

In February 2023, Bunnie Xo appeared to acknowledge their separation in a TikTok video. “Who knew that us breaking up in 2018, me moving back to Vegas & you coming to get me back – would have put us on this wild journey called life,” she wrote. “We finally committed to each other and did everything we promised each other the first night of 2016. Our castle in the sand had to crumble so we could rebuild on solid ground,” she concluded.
