I’m so sorry to tell you that one of the most famous bald men in the world is growing his hair out — just not on his head. On Saturday, Jeff Bezos, who, in case you were lucky enough not to know, has been working on his chin scruff since mid-September, was spotted walking around Paris with a prickly-looking crop of silver hair on the lower half of his face. He matched his new scruff to both his own monochromatic gray outfit and his wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, who was also in all gray. I guess there’s no better place to debut a new off-putting look than Fashion Week.
Though Bezos embarked on his facial hair journey last month, this is his first time taking it out for a spin in the City of Love. He took it to a lavish lunch at Le Grand Café and then kept it hanging around for Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel debut on Monday.
While I’m sure Chanel’s solar-system-themed backdrop made the billionaire astronauts feel right at home, Bezos’s scruff looks like it would rather be on a megayacht throwing itself another foam party. I hope it at least got into some good Fashion Week fêtes?
