Jaylen Brown’s father is said to have swung a knife at a man “25 times,” according to a witness statement to police related to an incident that led to Quenton M. Brown’s arrest for attempted murder.
Brown, a former boxer who goes by Marselles, was booked into Clark County Detention Center Thursday morning on suspicion of attempted murder.
It all stemmed from a Wednesday night incident in a Las Vegas park where Brown allegedly stabbed another man over a “door ding,” 3 News in Las Vegas reported.
Witnesses told police that the altercation started when the passenger-side door of an SUV hit another other vehicle, which prompted the man and woman inside the other vehicle to step out and look for damage.
The woman told police that the man in the SUV was confrontational and said that “it was just a bump” before insulting her boyfriend, calling him a “bitcha–,” which then prompted the boyfriend to slap the mirror on the SUV.
After the boyfriend turned his back, the girlfriend told police, the man from the SUV walked over to him “while producing [an] unknown object from his right side” and then “swung his arm in a straight stabbing motion and struck [the boyfriend] in his back.”
One witness said the man had swung his knife at the alleged victim “25 times.”
Bail had been set $300,000, according to online records viewed by The Post, and Brown would need to wear an ankle monitor, 3 News reported.
Brown is not only the father of one of the biggest stars in the NBA — Jaylen is a four-time All-Star and was the 2024 NBA Finals MVP — but also a former athlete in his own right.
He had been a boxer and posted a 33-18-1 record during his time in the ring.
