Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler is refuting his ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari’s, claims that she didn’t get any money in their divorce.

The former Chicago Bears quarterback, 42, responded to Cavallari’s, 38, comments during a recent episode of the “Take It Outside” podcast.

“It’s irresponsible, I think it’s reckless, I think it’s borderline slander to insinuate that there was zero dollars split during the marriage that each side got,” Cutler said. “It’s insanity and it’s completely false, completely untrue.”

The former Bears quarterback, who was once the highest paid in the league, went on to say that he’s got the 60 plus page divorce decree signed by a judge that confirms what Cavallari was paid when they parted ways, so he’s shocked that the former “Laguna Beach” reality star would claim otherwise.

“Let’s think about this logically. ‘Not a penny,’ OK. Married for, I don’t know, seven years or so, three kids,” Cutler added. “You can go and see how much I made in the NFL. It’s online. You can see the contract from year to year and the total amount at the end of 12 years. So, you go to divorce and each side gets a lawyer and then you go to court and there’s a judge.”

Cutler, clearly heated by his ex-wife’s claims, says he doesn’t think a judge in the entire state of Tennessee would have signed an agreement that allowed him to “keep every single dollar” he made during their marriage.

Kristin Cavallari says she built $50M brand without Jay Cutler’s help

Cutler’s comments come on the heels of statements made by Cavallari during her June 18th “Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour.”

At the time, the former reality star said she is “100 percent” the owner of her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, which reportedly rakes in $50 million a year.

The ex-NFL WAG went on to say that she”never” took any outside funding and slammed rumors that Cutler founded her brand.

“I have never gotten a penny from my ex-husband,” Cavallari said. “I didn’t get any money from our divorce, so let’s just clear that up. Thank you.”

Cutler, 42, and Cavallari, 38, were married in 2013 and parted ways after seven years together in 2020. The exes share three children together: Camden, 13, Jaxon, 11, and Saylor, 9.
