The Taylor Swift effect has hit Lions training camp after the international superstar mentioned the Detroit quarterback on Jason Kelce’s podcast.
Swift and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, appeared on Jason’s podcast last night.
Early on, Swift told a story about how she asked a naive question about football, not realizing Travis and Jason both played offense and did not go against each other on the field at the same time.
“I now know what an insane question that was,” she said, before using Goff as an example.
“I thought it was like, Jared Goff is here and (QB) Josh Allen is here. And they blow a whistle and they go at each other.”
Goff, asked about this at Lions training camp today, says his phone was blowing up for hours because of this.
“Pretty crazy, huh,” Goff said in an interview posted on X by Hobie Artigue. “That was a crazy couple hours last night for me and my phone. But, yeah, kind of cool.”
Jason Kelce joked that he would like to see that. “I would love to see Jared Goff play some defense.”
The Lions also got into the fun on X. “Jared in his defense era? Taylor Swift might be onto something.”
Swift talked about a number of topics on the podcast, including her “Eras Tour” and her new love for football.
She also unveiled her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which drops October 3rd.
