It has been reported that the 46-year-old actor was “sucker punched” by a random stranger while attending a party during the festival on Monday night (September 8) in Toronto, Canada.
James was at the festival this weekend, alongside wife Lisa Liberati, for the premiere of his new movie California Schemin.
People reports that James was having a “quiet night” at the bar Charlotte’s Room when he was caught off guard by a man hitting him.
A source said, “James was having a casual get-together with the producers of his movie and, as he later learned when speaking with the staff, there was a man who drank too much who was getting escorted out. James‘ back was to him and the man just punched him.”
Thankfully it doesn’t sound like James was hurt and the insider says the actor “laughed off the incident.”
James has revealed that this iconic role of his only became his after another actor dropped out at the last minute.
