If this seems like a fever dream or an outlandish plotline from The Good Place, it’s not—it’s a real thing that happened to actor and activist Jameela Jamil. During an appearance on The Romesh Ranganathan Show podcast, Jameela got candid about the unexpected moment.
“I’m sorry, if somebody says to you, ‘I had an orgasm in front of 6,000 farmers’ and then you go ‘no further questions,’ how lacking in curiosity would I have to be?” the host jokingly responded before she got into the lore.
In 2012, a 26-year-old Jameela DJed the Young Farmers Ball in the U.K. (yes, this does seem to be an actual thing across the pond), where she says there were “massive speakers” for the event.
“There was nowhere to put the decks, other than on top of the speakers, and I’m a sensitive young woman. Or I was at the time—I was 26, I think,” she explained. “And I had to DJ on the speakers, but the vibration of the bass was, you know…awakening something in my groin area.”

Though she attempted to cover up her body’s reaction, the heavy bass from her set led her to accidentally orgasm on stage. At one point, she said her tour manager had asked if she needed an inhaler due to her heavy breathing.
“I’m like, ‘Go away, it’s fine just go away!’ So I have an orgasm and then I think I’ve like gotten away with it and I think it’s mildly funny,” she continued. “But then, once women pop, we’re like Pringles. We can’t stop, and so it happens again.”
