JACKSONVILLE – The energy just feels different in DUUUVAL. The Jaguars secured a statement win over the San Francisco 49ers in a West Coast showdown, coming out on top 26-21. The victory turned heads across the nation, at the fact that this new Jaguars regime is the the real deal. Jacksonville improves to 3-1 for the eighth time in franchise history and for the second time (2018) since 2008. The defense is on fire. For the first time since 2009, the Jaguars have recorded two-plus takeaways in each of their first four games of the season. This is the sixth time in franchise history that Jacksonville’s defense has produced two or more takeaways in four or more consecutive games.
On the offensive side, first-year Head Coach Liam Coen’s scheme is already making some waves. The run game has taken a big jump. RB Travis Etienne Jr. surpassed 3,000 career rushing yards (3,085), achieving the milestone in his 52nd NFL game. It was a full team effort, complimentary football in all three phases.
