Is Taylor Swift’s ‘Opalite’ About Travis Kelce’s Ex Kayla Nicole?

We’re finally able to listen to Travis Kelce‘s “favorite” song from Taylor Swift‘s The Life of a Showgirl and it appears to throw shade at his ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicole.

Ahead of the October 3 release of Swift’s 12th studio album, Kelce revealed his love for the third track on the album during an episode of his podcast, New Heights. “I think ‘Opalite’ might be my favorite, though, at least right now,” the Chiefs tight end told his co-host and older brother, Jason Kelce, in August. “Every time it comes on, I always catch myself.”

The song, which is named after Kelce’s birth stone, appears to be a love song about the Chiefs player, 35, and references the past relationships both she and Kelce went through to find one another.

The second verse, in particular, appears to make a nod to Kelce’s on-again-off-again with Nicole.

“You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone,” sings Swift, 35. “You were in it for real, she was in her phone and you were just a pose.”

To connect the dots, fans have resurfaced a video of Kelce, 35, asking Nicole, 33, to get off her phone while they were on a date together.

Kelce had an on-again-off-again relationship with Nicole for five years, beginning in 2017.

Continues Swift in the song: “And don’t we try to love love? We give it all we got / You finally left the table, and what a simple thought / You’re starving ’til you’re not.”

Nicole is not the only person to get a call out on the album which allegedly includes references to Blake Lively, Charli XCX, Olivia Rodrigo, and more.
