Is ARC Raiders down? How to check server status – Destructoid

ARC Raiders, being a live-service always-online title, can and will suffer server issues from time to time.

So, if you are experiencing errors like “ARC Raiders online services are currently unavailable,” here’s how you can make sure it isn’t just your connection messing up.

The servers are having connection issues on Nov. 2, and Embark has already acknowledged the issue at hand. There’s no ETA on when the problem at hand will be fixed, so it could take a fair bit of time.

Currently, there is no official way to check the direct status of ARC Raiders‘ servers, but developer Embark Studios maintains a high level of communication with players, utilizing official channels like X and Discord to signal to players if something is wrong on the back end.

For example, Embark posted on Discord in the evening on Nov. 2, saying that the studio had “implemented a login queue as a temporary measure in order to mitigate issues related to forming parties and using voice channels which will make your matchmaking longer than usual.”

“We are sorry for the disruption and we are humbled to see so many of you jumping into the game to the point that we need to temporarily limit the amount of players we can let back Topside,” Embark said.

Outside of official channels, you can utilize tools like Technobezz’s dedicated ARC Raiders downdetector-esque status checker to see if players are reporting issues or outages.

At the moment, some players are experiencing the “Online services are currently unavailable” error when trying to log in to the game, which could indicate issues on the game’s side. To ensure it isn’t your own connection messing up, do the following check-ups on your machine:

  • Restart your router: Sometimes routers can crash and cause various connection issues, affecting not only ARC Raiders but your whole internet. A quick restart can reset stuff back to square one and clear any problems.
  • Reset DNS settings: If you’ve been tweaking your DNS to ensure faster connections, you may have inadvertently caused them. Reset any DNS settings back to default, or use tried and tested DNS IPs like Google’s 8.8.8.8.
  • Contact your ISP: Get in touch with your ISP to see if there are any issues on your end. Only do this if you notice hiccups in other areas of your machine, such as disconnects, lag, or poor loading speeds in your browser.
  • Check official ARC Raiders social media profiles: Follow ARC Raiders and Embark Studio on relevant platforms like X or join the game’s official Discord to stay in touch with what’s going on. If there are server issues, the devs are likely to notify the community of them, so you’ll know it’s not your machine that’s causing problems.

All in all, server crashes are a waiting game that usually resolves itself, and even if there isn’t an official way to check up on them, it’s likely going to get fixed pretty soon.
