We’ve seen a series of leaks claiming to reveal the iPhone 17 colors, and a new report corroborates these, citing an “internal report.”
The report lists six colors for the base model iPhone 17, four for the all-new iPhone 17 Air, and five for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max …
The colors listed are in line with other leaks over the past week or so.
We saw a flurry of these, the first pointing to a “very light blue” option for the iPhone 17 Air, corroborated by a second leaker who showed renders of this with three other colors. A third leaker then posted a photo of camera lens protectors for the iPhone 17 Pro, showing four colors.
Macworld today corroborates all of these, citing independent sources, and access to “an internal document with the Pantone colors used as a reference for designing and building the new iPhones.”
The full color line-up is listed as follows …
iPhone 17 colors
- Black (same as iPhone 16)
- White (same as iPhone 16)
- Steel Gray (Pantone 18-4005-TPG)
- Green (Pantone 2282 U)
- Purple (Pantone 530 U)
- Light Blue (Pantone 658 U)
iPhone 17 Air
- Black (same as iPhone 16)
- White (brighter/colder than the iPhone 16)
- Light Blue (Pantone 657 U)
- Light Gold (Pantone 11-0604 TPG Gardenia)
iPhone 17 Pro & Pro Max
- Black (same as iPhone 16 Pro)

Macworld’s Filipe Esposito notes that Apple appears to have made a subtle adjustment even to a subtle color.
It’s interesting to note that, at least based on Pantone color references, the blue iPhone 17 Air will be slightly lighter than the base iPhone 17. Apple reportedly wants less saturated colors for the iPhone 17 Air to reinforce the lightness of the device, which is expected to weigh around 145 grams and be 5.5 mm thick.
This would be a very slight difference, but if anyone would care about that level of detail, it’s Apple.
The full piece is worth reading for more details, including a “fluorescent” look to the orange of the iPhone 17 Pro.
