Insiders Say Harry & Meghan ‘Messed Up Big Time’ at Jenner Party

Royal insiders say Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “messed up big time” by showing up at Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party — a move one source claims handed Prince William “more ammunition.”

According to NewsNation, royal insiders in England were stunned that the couple spent the night before Remembrance Sunday at a star-packed Beverly Hills celebration hosted by Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. One insider didn’t hold back, calling the timing “unconscionable” and adding, “The day we remember our war heroes, our veterans — of which Harry is one! — and he goes off to a ball!” The insider also noted that Harry wore a poppy, while Meghan did not, describing it as “galling” and saying, “They should never come back to England.”

That shift was hard to miss, given that in earlier years the couple used Remembrance weekend to meet with servicemembers and honor veterans. In 2023, the couple visited Camp Pendleton to meet with U.S. servicemembers, veterans, and Gold Star families. The following year, they paid tribute to fallen soldiers again. By contrast, this year found them at Jenner’s birthday, where the police were called, alongside Adele, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Stevie Wonder, just to name a few.

A Hollywood source questioned the way they arrived. “Why didn’t they just come in the side door like Beyoncé and Jay-Z?” the source said. “If Harry and Meghan didn’t want attention, they should have just asked for the side door. But then again — Meghan loves the cameras.”

The evening also reignited the photo drama that started earlier in the week. Images of the couple posted on Kris Jenner’s and Kim Kardashian’s Instagram feeds were taken down shortly after appearing. People reported that, according to one source, Harry and Meghan “checked ‘no’ on a photo consent form,” which led to the removals, though People later updated its reporting as different accounts surfaced. Someone familiar with the Kardashians told NewsNation the whole situation was “ridiculous,” adding, “Everything the Kardashians do is for public consumption… They can’t have their cake and eat it too.”

That frustration fed into a larger point one of the royal insiders made to the outlet: “They messed up big time by going to that party. They should have either stayed home or gone in through the side door. It gives (Prince) William more ammunition to dispose of them once he becomes king.”

And the timing of that claim isn’t random. Recent reports suggest that William is open to seeing Harry again — but only on strict terms. Those sources say any reunion would have to be “behind closed doors, under lock and key,” with no Meghan, no aides, and no chance of their conversation appearing in a documentary or memoir. They also describe William as “deeply wary” after Harry’s past public criticisms, including the Oprah interview and his book Spare. William echoed some of that history during an appearance on The Reluctant Traveller, saying he hopes the monarchy won’t “go back to some of the practices in the past that Harry and I grew up in.”

The Sussexes haven’t commented on the Remembrance Day backlash or the photo removals, which continued circulating long after the party ended. And against that backdrop, the Jenner celebration — and the ripple effect that followed — arrives during a stretch where the brothers’ trust seems to already be hanging by a thread.
