It was a disappointing result, and largely with a performance to match, for Chelsea on Sunday in our opening match of the new Premier League season, and things don’t get too much easier in the second game, coming up on Friday night.
West Ham looked in absolute shambles in their first game, a 3-0 defeat to newly promoted Sunderland, with head coach Graham Potter adopting his customary deer-in-headlights pose on the touchline already, but few games are bigger on the Hammers’ calendar than a visit from Chelsea. They’ll be up for this one, even before the cliché of not having any easy games in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca might shed a bit more light on the injury situation in his press conference coming up in a few hours, but Tosin Adarabioyo was spotted in training and Wesley Fofana’s making it sound like on his social media that he might be in contention as well.
