HGTV fans are baffled after the network announced a new crossover show with former stars of the Bachelor – months after having culled several popular programs.
Bachelor Mansion Takeover, which premieres next year, will bring 12 former Bachelor, Bachelorette, Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette contestants back to the mansion to give the famed property a dramatic makeover.
The six-episode series, hosted by Jesse Palmer, will challenge fan-favorite franchise alumni with expert renovation skill.
The new show will see Dean Bell, Jill Chin, Noah Erb, Allyshia Gupta, Tammy Ly and Sandra Mason compete.
Sam McKinney, Brendan Morais, Courtney Robertson Preciado, Jeremy Simon, Christopher Stallworth and Joan Vassos will also appear.
In each episode, judges Tayshia Adams and Tyler Cameron will be joined by a guest judge to evaluate the transformed spaces including iconic and never-before-seen rooms.
Ultimately, only one Bachelor alum will win bragging rights and a $100,000 cash prize.
‘When we learned the Bachelor Mansion needed a serious makeover, we knew only HGTV could give the iconic property a renovation worthy of the name,’ said Howard Lee, Chief Creative Officer, US Networks, Warner Bros. Discovery.

The series, which is slated to launch in 2026, will be judged by Tayshia Adams and Tyler Cameron
‘We’re welcoming fan favorites and memorable cast members from throughout Bachelor history to the HGTV family and can’t wait to see what they get up to in this first of its kind competition for the network.’
News of Bachelor Mansion Takeover comes months after HGTV pulled the plug on several fan favorite shows, including Bargain Block, Married to Real Estate, Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It, and Battle on the Beach.
Christina on the Coast and The Flipping El Moussas were also axed.
While some social media users have expressed excitement over Bachelor Mansion Takeover, others have complained that the network could have kept some of the slashed programs.
On Reddit, one kicked off: ‘So all those shows got cancelled and we’re getting… THIS?’
Replying to the thread, another said: ‘Yeah what a joke, they could use that $100k prize for keeping other shows too.’
Over on Instagram, a third continued: ‘Who asked for this?’
‘This kind of stuff is what you canceled our favorite shows for?’ asked a fourth.

Sam McKinney is among the 12 contestsants signed up to the new competition series. He was a contestant on the 21st season of The Bachelorette

Joan Vassos was the first star of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette
Another added: ‘What are we doing? We’ve lost the plot.’
Others, however, have shared their excitement that the Bachelor mansion will finally be getting revamped.
One praised: ‘Such a good idea!!! Let’s go.’
‘This house has been in desperate need of a renovation!’ another commented.
Fans will have to wait until 2026 for Bachelor Mansion Takeover to premiere.
At the helm of the series is judge Tayshia, who was a contestant on season 23 of The Bachelor and the sixth season of Bachelor in Paradise.
She previously co-hosted The Bachelorette season 17 and 18 in 2021.
Meanwhile, fellow judge Cameron shot to fame as a contestant on season 15 of The Bachelorette in 2019.
Host Jesse was cast in 2004 as the Bachelor on the fifth season of the reality television series.
