HGTV is shaking up its schedule—and getting fans seriously riled up in the process. While the beloved home renovation channel recently announced it’s welcoming Queer Eye alum Bobby Berk to its roster of celebrity hosts, it’s also canceling popular programs like Farmhouse Fixer, Bargain Block, and Married to Real Estate. And now, rumors are circulating that Christina Haack, along with Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa, could also be on the chopping block.
Neither HGTV nor Haack has made official comments, but multiple sources are claiming that Christina on the Coast will not be renewed for another season. Truly, this was not the news we thought we’d wake up to today. Between her signature West Coast glam aesthetic and iconic clapbacks, Haack has long been the reigning queen of HGTV. To take away her crown overnight is shocking—or, if you ask her fans, a total misstep.
“Wow, literally HGTV has cancelled everything except anything to do with the twins,” one person wrote on Reddit. “What the h*** is going on?” “I’m actually shocked they cancelled their shows considering how long they’ve been on the channel,” another commented. A third simply said, “Aww man I loved Christina on the Coast!”
And what about Christina’s ex, Tarek El Moussa? His series, The Flipping El Moussas, could also meet a similar demise, but news of this rumored cancellation was met with mixed reactions. “Not surprised about Flipping El Moussas,” one Redditor said. “Could not get down with that show. Their dynamic/relationship just seems so forced.” “I liked Flipping El Moussas,” a fan replied. “RIP.” Another commenter agreed and wrote, “I think their designs were more interesting than Christina’s, too.”

Whether you love or love to loathe the unlikely trio, it’s safe to say this change is totally unexpected: Not only are Haack and the El Moussa family a huge part of HGTV’s programming, but Christina and Tarek have been featured on the channel for over a decade. At this point, it kind of feels like they’d always be there, so what do we do if they’re not?
Fortunately, there is a sliver of good news: HGTV has reportedly renewed The Flip Off, which was the channel’s most successful freshman show since 2022. However, the costars and coparents haven’t begun filming, so we can’t say a new season is official just yet. But who knows? Maybe Christina, Tarek, and Heather Rae will use The Flip Off‘s success as a major bargaining chip? Or, perhaps they’ll take a page out of the Chip and Joanna Gaines playbook and start their own network? We have a feeling the off-screen drama is just heating up.
