Helldivers 2 is officially crossing over with Halo: ODST, and it will add more than just some new armor sets.
As detailed by Xbox following several teases over the last week, the Helldivers 2 Halo: ODST Warbond will launch for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S on the same day Helldivers 2 launches on Xbox, August 26. It will be the game’s first “Legendary Warbond,” Helldivers 2’s battle-pass-like system through which players can spend medals earned by completing missions and orders to unlock a Warbond’s content. Unlike a normal battle pass, Warbonds don’t expire.
The Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond is loaded with more content than a typical Warbond: four Halo weapons, two armor sets, four vehicle skins, two capes, two player banners, and a player title. As a result, it has a slightly higher price tag. It will cost 1,500 Super Credits (which can be earned in-game or purchased separately at a rate of about $1 per 100 credits) instead of the usual 1,000 for a standard Warbond.
Here are the Halo weapons included as part of the crossover, as detailed by Xbox:
- MA5C Assault Rifle–An iconic rifle; the definition of reliable and having taken down countless aliens bent on wiping out humanity, it is time to turn its sights on enemies of Managed Democracy. It comes equipped with the convenient ammo counter and a built-in compass–let it guide you to victory.
- M7S SMG–Silent and deadly, with caseless ammo and a non-removable suppressor; this weapon is ready to spread Freedom to every corner of the galaxy.
- M90A Shotgun–This powerful shotgun carries a kick and has a handy flashlight mounted on it so you can see the fear in your enemies’ eyes before you teach them a valuable lesson about Liberty.
- M6C/SOCOM Pistol–They say keep your friends close and your sidearm closer. Well, we say that. The standard-issue ODST sidearm is your silent ally in the field – equipped with a built-in laser sight, flashlight, and, for the first time in Helldivers 2, a suppressor to support stealth gameplay. Because sometimes the best way to enforce Peace is quietly…
Helldivers’ ODST armor will also come with a new passive armor effect, “Feet First,” which allows players to make less noise when moving, become immune to leg injuries, and increase the range at which points of interest can be discovered by 30%.
The Halo armor sets come in two flavors: the familiar ODST look players expected as well as a set of ODST Recon armor, worn by Office of Naval Intelligence operative Veronica Dare in Halo 3: ODST. You can check out screenshots from the crossover below.
