“Inspired by his devotion as a husband and father, this new era of music has fueled a deeper perspective and more reflective sound, resulting in some of his most personal music yet,” Def Jam Recordings said of the 21-track album.
“I promise to take my time giving you// Devotion,” Bieber sings in the 12th track about being committed to Hailey after nearly 7 years of marriage. The couple wed in September 2018 and welcomed 11-month-old son Jack Blues in August 2024.
Both Hailey and Jack appear on the cover album art in his latest music drop, marking his first album since becoming a father and four years since he released 2021’s “Justice” album.
Hours before the album was released for streaming, Hailey referenced her husband’s viral meme in a now-deleted Instagram story, where he’s confronting paparazzi, writing, “Is it finally clocking to you f–king losers?” The song “Standing on Business” samples the pap incident that happened back in June.
Justin’s surprise release blends R&B, soul pop, and lo-fi sounds with collaborations from Gunna, Sexxy Red, Dijon, Lil B, and a rendition of “Lord, I Lift Your Name on High” from Marvin Winans. Druski is also featured a three interludes and voice memos where the “Sorry” hitmaker gets candid about his mental health.
“I’ve had to go through a lot of my struggles as a human really publicly. So, people always ask me if I’m OK, and that starts to really weigh on me,” he shared with Druski in the song “Therapy Session.”
