Gunner Stockton, Georgia Thrill CFB Fans in Comeback Win vs. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss

Georgia rallied for a hard-fought 43-35 home victory over No. 5 Ole Miss on Saturday, as Kirby Smart and the No. 9 Bulldogs handed the Rebels their first loss of the season.

In the SEC showdown, Georgia improved to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play, while Ole Miss fell to 6-1 and 3-1 in the SEC.

Quarterback Gunner Stockton dazzled with a stellar performance, completing 26-of-31 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns, while adding a rushing touchdown on 59 yards. He hooked up with Lawson Luckie for three scores and Nate Frazier for another.

Fans lit up social media with praise for Kirby Smart, Stockton and the Bulldogs after Georgia’s statement, back-and-forth statement win over previously unbeaten Ole Miss.

The opening half didn’t feature a single punt, with both teams scoring on every possession. Ole Miss took a 21-20 lead into halftime.

The first scoreless possession came from Ole Miss with 12:37 left in the fourth quarter, marking the start of their unraveling. Two punts in the final quarter and the inability to keep Georgia off the scoreboard helped the Bulldogs rally for a 43-35 comeback victory.

Georgia will head into a bye week before hosting Florida on Nov. 1.
