Just like kids, our pets have little “tells” that give away exactly how they’re feeling, especially when they’ve been caught doing something they shouldn’t. TikToker @ayaimahretrievers shared a hilarious video of one of their Golden Retrievers showing off their best guilty face, and it’s easy to see why it quickly went viral.
The video begins with Mom showing the edge of a rug that’s clearly been chewed on; in fact, a whole chunk of it is missing! Then she pans the camera over to the pup, and one look at that face confirms it… this guilty Golden has been caught red-pawed!
@ayaimahretrievers hit the nail on the head in the video’s caption, simply saying, “The face says it all.” There’s no way the pooch could deny they were the one who did the damage!

Commenters’ Funny Reactions to the Dog’s Guilty Face
It won’t come as a surprise to anyone that the video quickly went viral, racking up more than 8 million views, and viewers left over 9,000 comments. Some of the comments were just as funny as the video itself!
@Natalia joked, “I really hope you find out who did that, but thank you for showing us this sweet angel baby and his adorable smile!” @MyNameIsErinQuinn asked, “I’m waiting????? Did you eventually find out who did it?”
Commenter @Katie Coo took a screenshot of the dog’s face and got 34,000 likes when she said what they were thinking, “‘And I’m not even sorry‘ LOL!” @GT replied, “Well, by the look of it, it was not this doggy.” and the dog’s mom replied, “Investigations are continuing LOL!”
@Lagirdulce said what we were all thinking, “That face. I can’t get mad. I would melt like I melt with my precious Golden Retriever!”

Two studies, one led by Alexandra Horowitz and the other by Julie Hecht, found that when a dog is confronted by an angry or upset owner, he is more likely to present the guilty look, independent of actual guilt or innocence.”
One thing’s clear: the Golden in this video has that guilty look down pat!
