You think you’re having a normal scroll and then bam! A tiny Golden Retriever puppy gets the hiccups, and suddenly you’re weeping over how cute life can be. That’s exactly what’s happening to people who’ve watched this now-viral video of a baby Golden experiencing her very first hiccups.

The video shows the Golden Retriever sitting sweetly on the sofa when — hic! — the tiniest little noise comes out, and she looks completely confused. If you’ve ever needed a reason to love Golden Retriever puppies even more, this is it. Make sure you have the volume up to appreciate the hiccupy adorableness!

The throwback video from when her baby was just a baby was shared on the TikTok account @lucygoldenpaws, and people can’t get enough of how precious this is. My heart can’t take it. She was too cute for words! And I adore her little floral bandana!

“Well, those are the cutest hiccups we’ve ever seen and heard,” one account said. I agree! Someone else added, “Her winking on the first hiccup, she’s adorable.”

She really is! Just too cute for words. One sweet thing about this beautiful girl is that she has since grown into a volunteer therapy dog. Awwwww.

Another person suggested, “So I’ve learned rubbing my fur babies’ tummy and throat when they begin hiccuping helps.”

Well, there may be some truth to that…

How To Help a Pup With Hiccups

Now, if you’re wondering how to help a pup with hiccups, welcome to the club. Dogs aren’t like us. You can’t tell them to hold their breath or drink water from a cup backwards. And you definitely can’t jump-scare the hiccups out of them (please don’t try). The best thing to do is to help them calm down. Offer a gentle belly rub, some fresh water, distract them with a slow sniff walk, or let them relax in their cozy spot. Most puppy hiccups go away on their own, but if they’re happening all the time, a quick vet check can rule out anything weird.
