THERE seems to be trouble in paradise for Golden Bachelor Mel Owens and the woman he proposed to on his season finale, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.
As fans gear up to watch the emotional season finale on Wednesday, the golden couple has apparently been battling a rocky road behind the scenes.

Former NFL player Mel, 66, documented his journey to find love this year on ABC’s second season of The Golden Bachelor.
After connecting with a group of beautiful ladies, Mel has narrowed down his final two to Cindy Cullers, a retired biomedical engineer from Austin, Texas, and Peg Munson, a retired firefighter and bomb technician from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tonight’s finale, which will also include the live After the Final Rose portion, will show Mel getting down on one knee to propose to Peg, The U.S. Sun previously reported.
However, their engagement hasn’t been all sunshine and roses, as a production insider claimed that the couple is already enduring issues.

“Mel and Peg are already having problems. She’s a social butterfly and loves to be extroverted and outgoing.
“He can hang, but he’s much more demure. She’s go, go, go, and he’s calm and slower paced. He prefers nights at home, and she prefers nights on the town.
“They connect over foundational things like family and morals, but personality-wise, they clash, and there’s already been cracks in the relationship,” the source spilled.
The insider claimed that there was a weekend getaway for the couple scheduled for October in a “secluded space” that would give them privacy from being caught in public, but ultimately, it did not happen.
However, the couple has since seen each other, so the relationship remains ongoing.
Despite any recent tension with the pair, they plan to come out as a “united front” on stage during the live After the Final Rose segment.
“They don’t want the fans to get a whiff of any problems as that will just add to it,” the source added.
RUNAWAY GROOM?
There were a lot of questions at the beginning of the season about whether Mel would pop the question or not by the end of this journey.
“He was more difficult in the beginning, which is why everyone had doubts, but he really did allow himself to be vulnerable to the process.
“And because of that, he had a storybook ending, and producers are elated with the outcome.
“Execs were terrified he wouldn’t get down on one knee and convinced throughout most of the season it was looking like he wouldn’t,” a source previously said.
However, when things ended up working out with Peg, it was a “huge relief” to production.
“Everyone is thrilled, if not even surprised, behind the scenes.”
The insider went on to explain that ABC has “already made arrangements” for a televised wedding that will be “similar” to the one they threw for the first Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner.
However, it’s unclear when, or if, Peg and Mel will make it down the aisle.
Mel’s season finale airs on November 12th at 8 pm ET on ABC.
